That's great! That said, the existing Criterion blu-Ray is spectacular. After years of watching 16mm prints with nigh-illegible subtitles, and video transfers thereof, it was a joy to see it so crisp and clean.

I've the Criterion DVD, and never noticed anything that would make me consider it a subpar viewing experience. Do you know if the BluRay is that much improved over the DVD to make it worth an upgrade?

There was a new transfer and restoration done between the two releases, so, yes!
But since 4K releases usually also include a 1080 blu-Ray, maybe wait for the new one.

I would like to say I am being very patient about a Blu-Ray release for this remaster, but I haven't heard any news about one.
