Age of Ultron Costume project: Captain America, Iron Man Mark 43 and Ultron

The Full Armor

Active Member
Hey guys. I will be making Captain America's new uniform from Avengers: Age of Ultron as well as Iron Man's new Mark 42 armor and an 8' tall version of Ultron. I will be shooting for a very high level of accuracy with these builds and will be posting updates on the project and showing the methods I use to create these suits here on The RPF.

Been a while since I started this thread, but here are some updates on my progress.

Captain America

Main Belt

I started work on the main belt using some harness leather. The belts are a little thick right now, so I'm going to be thinning them down a bit on the back side before I dye the top piece and sew the two blanks together. I am using some rubber liner to design the buckle. When that is finished, I will be making a mold of it and casting it out of polyurethane.

Boots

For the boots, I picked up a pair of Magnum Mach 1 tactical boots. These are the exact boots that Cap wears in AOU.

The boots come in 2 different styles, a 5 inch and an 8 inch.

While both boots will work fine, I decided to go with the 5 inch boots for simplicity.
Unfortunately, as awesome as these boots are, they have been discontinued and are a little hard to find in the right sizes for a good price.

Helmet

The attached pictures show my recent work on an AOU helmet for a customer of mine. The helmet is made of polyurethane with some nice faux leather pieces and nylon webbing for the chin strap.

More still to come soon! STAY TUNED...

I haven't updated this thread in a while, but here are the latest pics of the Cap suit.

I am planning to post pictures of the finished suit, along with lots of WIP and close ups of the individual pieces, here in the next couple days.
