After Earth (Post-release)

My sentiments precisely when it comes to the Smith children. Unfortunate since I think their dad actually does have a lot of talent!

You're right, Will Smith does have a lot of talent... It's just usually not the talent that the movie he's starring in calls for.

If Shyamalan is counting on this to revive his career, he probably should have chosen different actors.

Shyamalan tells me not to see this movie, and the Smiths tell me not to go to this movie if my life counted on it.

I never cared for Shamalyan's movies for a couple of reasons: for one thing, when a "twist" gets predictable, it's no longer a twist but a gimmick. For another, the whole flavor of his movies leaves a lot to be desired for me, as they are too contrived for my tastes. His stories just do not seem to "flow" (if you know what I mean).

Production looks shiny but I see no reason to care about the characters or what happens to them. Was that trailer seriously supposed to entice me to see the movie? :unsure

First of all, I love how every one made their own rendition of M. Night's last name. :lol

Second, I just saw the trailer and wait for DVD is the final verdict. I am on the same boat as most of you guys, I have lost interest in his movies ever since The Sixth Sense.

Mmmmmm.. maybe. If I have a night or day free and this is out, I'd put it in a definite 'maybe' category. Definitely on Netflix when it's out there, but not certain if I want to put money down on it.

Meh. Will Smith ruined WWW, and his son ruined Karate Kid for me. Never really been a fan of his work.

And they both ruined I Am Legend, that was his son right? I swear at least one of this kids was in there at a point.

M. Night Shameonyou made another snooze fest. And the twist ending will be its a dream...OR...Earth is actually a small Village!:eek

Edit: I just saw the latest review on IGN. I get the impression Jaden can't act, and also feel that the story will be about a test from his dad "Cypher Raige":rolleyes

Unlike a lot of folks I really like M. Night Shyamalan - yeah, The Happening wasn't all that happening and I didn't see The Last Airbender - but, the rest? Well, I have a lot of love for those films (Signs probably being my favorite).

After Earth just looks terrible. Jaden Smith being jammed down our throats is the worst part about it, with the very typical premise following second. I really didn't even realize it was a Shyamalan movie until I popped into this thread - because of his involvement I may go see it - but, still doubtful.
