Hello, fellow sculptors. I am currently in the process of building a portfolio for myself. I have a thread up for 1/3 scale Scorpion King, if anyone is interested in following it. Anyway, in a year or so, I would like to have a good portfolio built up, because I would like to become a professional sculptor. I have been sculpting, as a hobby, for 20 years now. But all my works have not been documented, or have been lost or destroyed... I am interested in learning how to contact companies, and present my portfolio to those companies. The process seems to be a secret, because I can only find articles that touch the subject but don't go into any details. I would also like to get an idea of what companies look for in a portfolio. If any of you veterans can help, I would be grateful. (My ideal market would be figures and sculptures that illustrate current pop culture). Thanks for looking!
