Advice please

I'm new to here, Iv seen a lot of work on here and it's brilliant.

I'm looking to attempt to build something myself like ironman helmet but to be honest, I'm new to this and have no idea where to start.

Iv seen some pictures where people have like a cardboard model to start with. If you guys and girls could give me some tips and links and advice I'd be very grateful

There are many threads on this. Some stickies on beginning pep as well. Its a difficult first build if your using cardstock. Iv gone through about 9 helmets because of imperfections etc. All I would advise is look at others builds and what they have used. See how accurate the are etc. Then research into your chosen particular method more.

Search the Forum , for Pepakura files , Pepakura is Japanese for Paper work/ Cutting, it's a method for rendering a 3D object into a series of flat 2D shapes which you cut out ans stick together to make the 3D object again , also look at any of the Foam work also scattered about the forum , in simple terms you make the paper model , then you strengthen the paper, with PVA glue or similar, then coat it in Resin and/or Fiberglass then sand prime paint and finish to get to a completed Piece eg Helmet, I've dsimplified the process somewhat but these are the basic steps you have to go through . Just search around , there are some very good links to some excellent video tutorials, watch them all then try to follow the techniques !!
