Advice on Iron Man Replica Costume - Joints

Hi, I am new here and new to costume making . I am aiming to create an Iron Man replica costume from either foam board or cardboard. I was wondering if anyone could give me advice (or alternatively point me to a thread) on what to use as joints to link all the pieces together. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
