Advice on clay for making a negative mold

Hi, So Im in the process of making a wearable Ood mask, ive finished my sculpt using a oil based clay (klean klay), so Im now ready to make my negative mold.

from all the videos I have watched, it seems I need to use a water based clay to build a clay wall as part of making the plaster mold, and here lies the problem:

ordering clay is expensive due to its weight, and so I have been looking for a seller locally, unfortunately I live in Southampton Hampshire, and cannot seem to be able to find one??

I have found a seller of terracitta clay, but I dont know if this is water based???

all help, advice or even education on clays would be hugely appreciated, and Im sure others after me looking for any information would do too :)

did you try ebay? I got 20lbs of klean klay for less than 50.00 shipped. Not sure if there is water based clay on there but it might be worth looking.

terracota is water based clay, you don't need a particular brand, stay away from newclay though, has fibres in it which are a pain to smooth away.
hope you get sorted out

You dont need to use water based clay you can use any thing that will work,
plasticien, card stock, any thing
