Hey guys:

Just added another all day class to Jerseyfest Academy called “Advanced Sci-Fi Vehicle Model Making”. Experts will demonstrate advanced techniques and methods to build, paint and customize resin and plastic Sci-Fi vehicle model kits. Here are our terrific instructors:

Jason Eaton
Kevin Derken
Michael Salzo
Paul Bodensiek from ParaGrafix

See details here: News (Blog) » JerseyFestFair

Note that the Moebius Models Make & Take class and Advanced Sci-Fi Vehicle Model Making class are two different classes occurring simultaneously, so attendees can register for and attend only one of them.

I'd love to go, but I live in Portland, Oregon, with most of the width of North America between me and NJ. I wish there was a good model show here or maybe Seattle. Ah well.

Hey guys:

Folks who live far from New Jersey may want to consider coming to the show and making a mini vacation out of it by visiting New York City, one of the greatest cities in the world. New York has many entertainment and cultural options for the whole family and even cool collectible shops.

We have MANY folks attending Jerseyfest from across the USA and even abroad who are flying in or driving great distances because the show has a lot to offer and is a full weekend experience - all day and night. More big show announcements to come, including a few that will please Sci-Fi hobbyists. :)

Thanks for the nice comments.

Sorry guys, I missed WonderFest due to my brother's wedding, and I've settled on the 'consolation prize' of going to Providence in August for NecronomiCon. Don't think I can swing two big trips this year. Believe me, I want to go - you have some major star power lined up.

Gaggy, if there is anything in Florida you're showing up at, just let me know. If I can drive there, I will.

You guys have a good time at JerseyFest!

We hope more of you will consider signing up for this "all day" seminar (Registrations for all Jerseyfest Academy Classes » JerseyFestFair). It's a lot of bang for the buck, with 8 hours worth of demos and presentations by top guys for only $60. No matter how experienced you are, it will be great to see how other experts do what they do.

Here is some more info on the seminar:

Jason Eaton (moffeaton)...
"I plan to go over the ideas and solutions to lighting or adding a little dynamic motion to models. I'll show examples with lights in engines, cockpits, and navigation lighting. The Blade Runner Blimp was a much more intensive lighting and video challenge, so I'll show how that was accomplished, what hurdles were encountered along the way, and how you can use third party vendors to get what you need, if your skill set doesn't get you to where you want to go. I'll also show the new solutions I've come up with for a model I'm building right now, that features motion, lights, and sounds - all controlled by modified custom programmed Radio Control equipment. I'll have a Powerpoint presentation to show, and I'll have a few electronic boards on hand to show what they do."

Mike Salzo...

How about a DVD version for those of us who can't make it? I would buy one!

I managed to ensure a business trip to NYC that week. I'm bringing the big suitcase for all the goodies you can't get in the UK.

Lorne Peterson will be there. How often do you get to meet your gods?

Can't wait!
