Accurate ESB Fett helmet visor search. Let's find this!!!

Yes, but so far no one has tried to contact them.
They very well may have what we are looking for.
I was hoping someone would check that one out.

Its more than just Gino who wants to find this. Alot of people would be happy to add the correct visor to their helmets; myself included.
The more people searching for this, the more luck we will have.

So I will add; Pretty please with sugar on top interested folks help find this?:cool

Ive got a very nice boba maker ESB helmet, i hope this gets found. Would love to add something close to what was used on screen as the visor to it. I work for a sign making company and have looked for something to use before with no luck. I checked out all our 3mm plastic samples today, some are over 20 years old, nothing doing.

This may seem a little left field but, had anyone considered the posibilty that they were cut from acrylic tubes? More specifically large tube/drum lamp shades that were common in large buildings in the late 70s. It could account for the difficulty in finding the correct colour in cast/extruded sheets today. Lamp shade polymers would be dyed according to the designers taste and smaller runs of items wouldn't be too problematic (hence "designer" lamps being so expensive) Something cut from a tube shape would already have a nice perfect curve on it too. Again this is based on nothing but a hunch, Ive never seen a screen used bobba helmet, the curve may be nothing like what I'm imagining. I think the best course of action would be to try to identify the actual material in the screen used helmet (acrylic/polycarbonate etc) that will narrow it down. I think back then the recipie for polycarbonate was exclusive property of kodak, perhaps someone there may recognise it. It's a long shot..

Here's a horrifying thought..

Thats a very rare (only 50 made) green Vistalite drum kit from 1972. The shell thickness is 6mm. I think you guys may need to widen your search, there is no reason to assume the visor was cut from a weilding sheild. Acrylic furnature was common in the 70's so by the time ESB was made it would be cheap to find and chop up.

I love the drum set!

I think the search just reached a broader scope. This is why it helps to have alot of people looking and making suggestions.

Dark? Light?
How does this compare?

Like I said in the other thread you made, that's not the right stuff. The stuff you have is the common transparent green.

For my helmet, I used .125 smoke tint acrylic and dyed it until it matched the shade 3 green welding visor I have. It was pretty difficult because you have to watch out for the water distorting the acrylic, and also from the bottom of the pot marring the surfaces as well if they touch the bottom or sides of the pot.
It's the exact color I think it should be, but I'd still prefer that it be the found item.
Still looking, but probably not as aggressive as before.

Guess what I just stumbled across that is 3mm thick and dark transparent green? :love

Making contact....stay tuned.
