Accuracy of Noble Collection Harry Potter coins?

Happened to be flipping through the Noble Collection catalogue last night and the Gringots display caught my eye. But to be honest, I never really looked at the coins in the movie in any detail, so I was wondering if they're at all close to what's shown on screen. Anybody with opinions?

Worse coins ever. I think they look like tokens, not coins. Especially the pewter-esque metal they use for the sickle.

Get the Pobjoy coins -- they're the same mint that made the movie coins.

Good to know, thanks. But, uhm... What's a "Pobjoy"? :confused

Alivans wands sells a lower quality pobjoy strike. They are bronze pieces and weather quickly as well they are slightly thinner than the real Pobjoy strikes and also a slightly less quality strike. The English Pobjoy strikes are extremely close to the screen used coins. The only difference was the Large gold Galleon coins for the movie were gold plated and then struck twice to give a slight change of tone on the character imprint on the coins. The other coins are exactly as used on the movie set.

And yes, the Noble coins are replicas that are very inaccurate the screen pieces.

What she said..

kinda off topic but whats with the 'Noble Collection ' now?
Seems 90% of what they make are now letter openers and billfolds, who wants that crap?

And to bump up a really old thread with a new question

I gave a set of the pobjoy ones to my niece, and the gold galleon has gotten quite tarnished. Does anyone have any idea how to return it to its brilliant shine, or would it need to be re-plated.

thanks all!
