my take on the motion tracker, - so the years 2011, its may. and in 5 days located the following bits:

kango 426 (with cracked handle which meant it was in 2 bits) £11 on uk ebay
self timer with box £7 on german ebay
jobo minilux £9 on german ebay
hama remote £25 on usa ebay
matchbox psu £1 on uk ebay
50mm washer £1 for 25 with m6 hole via uk ebay
sony sl80 £16 on uk ebay
humbrol 29 brown and 30 green spray paint £8 ish
vivistar flash £1 uk ebay
hama slide viewer £15 usa amazon
pump widget - mar attacks (many thanks for being so helpful and there for everything else youve done )
so apart from the pump part, im original to the parts - build is nearly done - im just awaitng the hama remote and jobo to arrive, some final co ax wire, and i used a photo i took from tv via the bluray, printed it out and stuck it inside the hama :) it still needs all screwing back up but until the remote release arrives im on hold - i may build a second one as whilst sourcing the parts i pretty much doubled up on everything as in the future i want a hyperdyne fully working unit it one - this one thats near completion will stay static replica only. i didnt think id be able to get all the bits - esp this day and age - more than anything the calculator find really spiced it up - due to the cheapness the other parts cost i was able to go overboard on the ebay bid to ensure i won - better than paying 360 for a master replica one financally :)

this was the state of the drill when it was won:

and after the repair you can see where it was cracked(clean in 2 from trigger to bottom right corner) and in a general state of dropped on the floor in its 25 year old life - alot of scratches, chunks and marks on it - all rubbed out, filled and rubbed till i bled:

uk ebay - theres always one a week usually - i had this one, another ive stripped, and theres one listed now currently on uk ebay - mine both cost me 11 uk pounds, the whole build has cost approx 100 pounds now - alot cheaper than a master replicas version. but i have sourced every part twice (except for another hama remote, jobo minilux, and casio calculator panel) so i almost have all the bits to make another tracker

do you have anymore pictures regarding the rest of the build, this is great so far.

I have an old kango in my garage i think ive just found a use for it :love

i used an already existing build available on the internet from hyperdyne labs - it gives an excellent how 2, but yes i have documented my build as well.

gutting the kango tho is a messy job i forewarn you ;)

but i think you will struggle on certain parts:
namely the slide viewer is discontinued, hama remotes and minilux are a reasonably difficult find, calculator i got lucky so theres another rare one. plenty of flashguns on ebay tho - but you will find yourslef locating parts from germany, uk and usa.

i struck lucky on the kango as it was advertised as a kango 46 (due to the label being torn, and the plate was covered by masking tape)

all the parts i have sourced and made it over a 3 week period - 1 week of building but i have been on hold waiting for the international parts for nearly 1 week now (bank holiday will simply delay it also)

Brilliant work, and so awesome, to see this didnt cost you a second Mortgage to build, good for you. So many "prop" world parts get stockpiled by hoarders it kills it for the true builder.
Great work, and a great save on the Kango!

would very much appreciate if you could inbox me any info regarding parts, i fancy having a bash at this.

i nearly threw my old Kango out, how lucky was that.

parts list is all in the hyperdyne link - rest is google and patience half the time -

matchbox psu - easy ebay uk
self mechanical timer - best option ebay.de
hama viewer - im at a loss for that now as i had a job obtaining one so bought both the last stock they had
hama remote - best bet ebay usa
jobo minilight - us or de ebay
calculator - well i stumbled across mine on ebay last week so i doubt its common anywhere now
pump widget - contact member marsattacks for a resin version
i have loads of the washers tho

get a dremel too if you dont have one - save you alot of aggro

im still seeking a few parts for the second build tho - itll be a long process 25 years after the originals were built

my hama release arrived this morning from the usa so i was able to finish the build - i also went to maplins and bought a single message pcb kit from velleman - looped a motion tracking noise for 30 seconds - and recorded via the pcb onboard mic - i also decided to utilise the trigger for the leds and the pcb - so upo pulling the trigger it now lights and makes noises:

"hyperdynes how to" was my reference point :)

We don't see enough of this prop anymore. I have always really liked this one, especially when folks part it out and build it themselves!

Great job!!
