A New Look for the RPF!

Right I figured that, still well done. It's little hard to read the letters at first, but once the bright colored codes drop down the letters comes in proper perspective.

I agree and the forum seems to have evolved quite a bit over the years from what I've read.

It definitely has, which is a great thing. I know that everyone hates change and the natural inclination is to resist it (even I do from time to time), but I think the thing that has kept the RPF at the top of its game, while so many other sites like it have failed, is that the RPF, as a community, has continually been willing to evolve and change as the world around it changed. This started long before I took the reigns. I am just carrying on that tradition of being willing to adapt and evolve and it is VERY exciting!

In my opinion. This forum is not defined by its logo, banner or slogan, but by its members. You could slap anything up there for me. I am here because I love to build things and to follow some of the best builders around.

Well said and something that is super important to keep in mind.:thumbsup

So as I suggested, and hoped, it looks like we're heading towards a consensus of regular variations to the new logo? Cool! Just as I predicted it's generating a lot of suggestions and discussion.

was a liittle bores so I thought I would throw in a quick and dirty one.

I really love the idea someone put out of having customizable themes for the forum. The main theme would be the off-white, charcoal and blue, but then you could select a film/game/show and that would be your theme. We could all submit and vote for the theme for each film.

I don't have a computer currently, or else I'd throw together a Firefly version. Brown background, goldish lines/letters, and the fwooshy lines the intro had. I'm also sorely lost as to what I'd do for a Zelda theme, but I'm sure I'll come up with something. Captain America's should be swapped in as the default theme for July 4th, along with BTTF on Nov 5 and such.

Finally, I know that a few prop makers will put in maker's marks in a discreet location. It would be fun if we could add this logo next to our mark for props we intend to sell only through the RPF.

I can tell you, for sure, that we won't have choosable themes. They are an absolute nightmare to administrate and cause nothing but trouble. The 4 we have right now are a continual headache. However, one of the things GINO pushed for early on and we are now seeing even more potential for is a continually changing header for the site... something that changes monthly, or even twice a month. I pushed back against this idea because for the staff to try to come up with new ideas is a pretty big burden. However, if we turn to the community, give you guys a basic idea and then choose the best execution of that idea... I think that is something that is viable!

Really thrilled to see that you guys are seeing the potential in this logo! I think we are just hitting the very tip of the iceberg!
