Had we still had the other outfits we already sent out we could have mimicked the Death Star scene with the 3 Stormtroopers...

Unfortunately as it got darker, the camera flash reflected off of the helmets showing the see through visor area.

Dave got one of those Nerf rifles at Toy's R Us and after 5 minutes had it sprayed gun metal black with little yellow highlights. I'm rather impressed by that toy rifle myself....it's pretty cool...:lol

Enjoy!

Very cool!! I really like the design of the outfits... a LOT! Love those helmets!! :)
My only critique is that I think the outfit would look better if the armor were on an actual cloth under suit rather than having it sculpted, but that's nitpicking.

Awesome job!!

Pretty cool! Reminds me of the armor in the timeshift game on the 360.

Gotta love the nerf rifle :)

WOW! Very cool suits. I will second the comment about the sculpted undersuit - cloth would look better. Maybe if the gray areas were a flat finish, it might be less noticeable? Excellent, in any case. Love those faceless helmets.

When you first showed the sculpt I was wondering why you sculpted the cloth parts instead of using a real jumpsuit in combination with the cast parts. I'm sure the models would appreciate the breathable cloth.

Just curious.

Is that the same one you had at FanExpo? Seriously cool!!!!! Awesome job, David!

Thanks Darien,
The one at the Fan Expo was made a few months ago while these ones are newer. Sure, all from the same molds though so yea...if you saw it at the show then essentially it's the same thing. :)

Someone asked if there are found objects on these costumes and the answer is yes. 4 military pouches on the belt, one gun holster on the right thigh and Alpinestar motorcycle boots. A specific model as requested by the client.

For anyone who hasnt seen the sculptures, here's the link to the WIP costuming section thread...

Also the details as to why it's an entire clay sculpture/rubber casting VS armor and a fabric undersuit are discussed there too. Basically it's a combination of wanting to stay away from the 'typical' armor mounted over a cloth suit look and what Dave and the client both decided would better suit the costume as a whole...from the making-of process to the finished look. It's all discussed there.:)

Thanks so much for the kind words. We've got so much more stuff like this on the work bench, and look forward to posting more and more as we're ready. :)

Thanks for posting the link to the original thread; I don't go over to the costuming forum that often, and hadn't seen it. Now I understand why you went that route. Again, fantastic work. And I have to add I love what was done with the Longshot.
