A New Hope (virtual props)

These are nothing like the amazing stuff you guys have produced over the years, but during the long darkness of COVID I have pieced together a couple of Youtube videos.

One: A Zoom virtual cockpit (spliced together from video segments already on YT):

Thanks. My next project involves another random background object in that movie.

Remember in Old Ben's hut where they sat around and Luke got the low-down on Ben's history (well, a version of it)?

They were sitting at what looked like an overturned bird-feeder with a couple of items on it that have since been identified (here, I believe, of course) as antique ear trumpets:

I started looking around this scene and noticed what appears to be a stuffed armadillo, the Indian Dowry Chest where the saber is kept, a bunch of old scythe-like tools and a medallion on the wall, and possibly an old hookah pipe, but my project is to recreate the circular disk with buttons that is recessed in the wall:

This was most likely filmed at Elstree, so this set greeblie isn't some Tunisian artifact, but more likely a found part (or even just created for the set).

You can see this same plate again in a scene with the droids (albeit now it is turned upside down). Notice the imperfect placement of the buttons:

Again, this is probably from an Elstree set. Whether these were working buttons or (as I suspect) just set in the metal with a backlight I don't know. The button plate turns up yet again in the doorway when they are going to the Falcon (look in the background next to Chewie):

Bizarre choice? Yes. But that's what staying home has reduced me to. Plus this kind of panel I can stick in my man-cave/office wall and have people ask "What the hell is that?"

Thanks again. For years I'd wondered if someone had that Lars Garage hexagon sequence as a screensaver or something. Despite how well this film has been combed over, no one did, so I made it. It's static in ANH and moves around and is more colorful in ROTS, so I made a hybrid.
