A couple Nerf questions

I'm planning a to make couple custom Nerf guns this summer, and I'm wondering if you people out there who have larger Nerf collections than I could answer a couple questions I have about specific Nerf models:

-Can the Vulcan barrel (just the core piece, not the entire attachment) fit into the outer casing of the Retaliator barrel extension?
-How would the Vulcan barrel extension (the entire removable attachment) look if it were stuck onto the end of the Slingfire (I know it doesn't attach; I'd glue it or something)? I'm worried that it might be too bulky. If possible, a pic would be nice.
