A Buck Rogers model project

Now that I've been authorized by the client, I'd like to share this:

Its a build I did for ZICA Toys last year. This company is producing a line of highly detailed 1/9 scale (Mego size) action figures based on the 1979-1981 Buck Rogers TV series. I was tasked with building small 'sets' for photographing the figures as well as a large hangar display to be used at trade shows to showcase the figure line.

I can't take credit for the figures, but it was fun trying to live up to the quality that ZICA put into them. (Anyone interested in the figures should go to http://zicatoys.com/)

The hangar display was also challenging because it had to break down into a managable size so it could be easily transported to and assembled at shows. A 1/9 Starfighter is also in development for the hangar display.

The Buck figure looks great (it needs a Wilma figure with it though). The Henry Silva Kane is nice also, but I am hoping somebody will eventually do a Michael Ansara Kane as he did the character for the later episodes of the TV show and played him rather well I think. The Hawk figure is most excellent! Great likeness.

Your work on these is outstanding BTW! These far surpass the original Mego figures (I had a Buck). The helmet for Buck is a nice touch. As for a 1/9 Starfighter, that is going to be HUGE!

Nice job on the hanger. I see they went with the original Tigerman and not the less impressive Tigerman II. Good choice.

Looks great , Saw these on Megomuseum. the figures are incredible as well. The articulation and body build puts the classics to shame.

I just got a set of the figures myself (Buck/Tigerman).

I knew how good these things looked in pics and what went into the making of them, so I felt justified in endorsing them here...

BUT WOW! I'm blown away. In this case, the camera doesn't hide anything; these figures are as good if not better in person. If you are any kind of Buck fan, you'll regret not getting these. The costume and prop details are translated so well that my mind went beyond admiring the product, but onto admiring the film designs themselves.

Now I want my displays back from ZICA to play, er... DISPLAY these figures in!

OK, the plug is done! Just couldn't resist!!
