Hello. I'm in need of some.build.advice, im perplexed.at this point and dont want to guess and screw things up. I believe.there are knowledge folks.here that of I could.please.tap.into. right now I'm building a a-280 rifle from a airsoft m16 and resin parts. I'm stuck trying to figure out how the barrels are made to be flush with the cut off reciever top to put the scope rail on. My cut tubes sit about a 1/2 above the cutoff handle. I'm thinking the upper barrel is either cut to sit lower on the lower bigger tube or it's cut so the upper tube sits lower in it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not that it will help much but here's a pic of the one I did several years ago.
Gutted airsoft receiver and lots of PVC and assorted plastic.

IIRC there is a piece of pipe that runs from the stock all the way to the front.

The main barrel (that the front sight is on) was a real AR-15 or M-16 barrel. The largest tube around that sits right against the delta ring (Google it), . then the top part sits on that. My tube almost sits in the ring a little. Some versions have that top tube squished at the rear so it sits flush. So that tube should sit flush with the top of the receiver, or almost flush.
