90's Comic Spider-Man Spider-Tracers (possibly functional?)

After seeing someone selling Spider-Tracers on facebook it inspired me to 3D model my own.

The inspiration is from the 90's Amazing Spider-Man comics (Bagley's of course) and the image I used for reference was this.

So after a few days using Skectchup (with a ton of plugins) managed to create this

It's not perfect but its turned out better than expected when working with Sketchup. Any thoughts?

I'd love to see where this goes! If you were to make an .STL or .OBJ file, that would be AMAZING!!

Is it possible to make actual functioning spider-tracers? Not sure if the technology is there yet, just wondering it was possible and if so how it can be done. it would be cool to put a tracer on my glasses or ipod and easily find em if I lost em lol

These new spark electron's are the smallest GSM capable micro's I've seen https://www.kickstarter.com/project...ce=store&utm_medium=button&utm_campaign=spark add a gps module which can be pretty small. The killer will be a battery, so I guess it depends on how big this will actually be when printed. Less functional, but easier would be something like this https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2143723879/hiro-bluetooth-thing-finder?ref=nav_search there are dozens of BLE devices that work like this, some even on the market already.

Here is picture of their tracking module.

Pretty large compared to a Spider Tracker

That one is, but you can get those GPS modules broken out to wires instead of a board, and if you connect things properly instead of using a huge breadboard size would be not much bigger than the electron in width and length, then maybe 3 times as tall. But like I said battery is gonna kill it most likely.

I actually didn't think about my last post. Microchipping animals is used for identification not GPS location. Sorry:(
