8 year old predator costume

Hello, my name is Pete and my son and I made a predator costume for him and one for myself as well. This was the very first time I've ever built a costume and had no experience with foam or any if the kind. We built everything except the mask and 3d printed plasma blaster. It took me about 2 months or so for both and we had a blast building them and even more fun now wearing our costumes. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

We had a blast, certainly no eating or drinking too much fluids because it's tough to take off fast lol. But we had a blast.

Thank you I really appreciate it. I was honestly hesitant since we've never made anything like this. We make just about everything but I haven't sewed or anything in over 15 years. So I said oh well let's try. I think it will still look 100 times better than anything store bought. Very discouraging at first but at the end we just accepted it. We were happy, especially him just watching lol.

It was vwey tough keeping a 8 year old entertained with me and engaged at the dame time. To say the least I had YouTube, his tabled and pizza here lol. At the end, we were satisfied considering my procrastination which is my weak point. I think for this next year's comic con I will redo everything months in advance and more accurate. But non the less we've had a blast.we lost every contest because they thought we bought them and due to my OCD I want everything perfect which it is far from. Once they found out my 14 hour firefighter shifts turned into 36 hour measuring and sewing sessions/ learning they smiled. Hope you guys enjoy it's our very first time ever doing it. So I hope people don't completely bash. We've loved the community thus far.

Awesome hard work. Don’t worry too much about perfection; nobody/nothing is/will be, not here anyway.
The most importang thing is the creative process and parent-child-time well-spent, having fun and creating memories rather than suits (although it is very cool to walk around in self-made suits together ^_^).
Just keep doing all of this and make sure you (both) have ideas/goals and a good time; the rest is either bonus or life. It doesn’t need to be perfect. Just give it your best that’s good enough

I agree 100%! We've had a blast! He definitely has enjoyed it and so have I. I know I will definitely look back and miss it. It's a bonus that I really enjoy suiting up too lol.

Comic cons seem to become more and more popular these days, so it will not be the end of your joint quests
I have a feeling there will be ample opportunity for you and your son/family to go places, dressed up or just as spectators. Keep crafting & keep going places !

Here are my first neck rings I've made. Don't pay any attention to the ugly hot glue inside lol. You can't see that. It's made from small air-conditioning water line, like the swamp cooler style. About 11 tube's tall, I tapered the back so I could move my head around and I'm also wearing a black gator neck under it. Looks good under the mask and with the armor on gives off the right amount of look.

Looks similar to what I have seen on the forum and know as ‘Dragon Skin’. People use it for their Iron Man suit joints as well
