6'-0" Koreans Can Be Iron Man Too...

Relatively new member to the RPF. I love this forum. This is my first major cosplay attempt. I made a Cobra Commander and Baroness last Halloween which were awesome but not to the level of this years goal.

My girlfriend's bday is 11/2, so we celebrate Halloween weekend with fiends on 6th Street Austin which is always insane. It is also Austin Comicon ths weekend so a double whammy of craziness.

This is my very first foam build and I was not sure I could pull it off.

Special thanks to: Stealth...your tutorials gave me the confidence to try this cool hobby. Darkside501st...I love the Mark VII and without your files and thread ths would not be possible...JFCustom...your quick files are just as Awesome...Doc...your paint method and answers were a great help...The Real Stark...your compact Repulsors made a smash hit wow factor...Masked Rider...your helmet was purchased from another member, but when I added the hinges made a great showpiece...and all the other members I asked help from like EOS, Dando any many others...Most of all my girlfriend Sara that supported me in my time and money, and to allow me to be a celebrity for a couple of days with hundreds of photos with hot girls with grabby hands to the cutest kids on earth at Comicon that I just could not say no to.

I did not post a build thread because I'm new, and didn't have a lot to contribute. I did want to share my accomplishment as I am very proud of what I've done.

A little about my build. Masked Rider helmet, added single hinge and magnets, EVA foam from Sears, screw in arc reactor from kitchen sink parts, Compact Repulsors from the Real Stark modded with airsoft gloves.

I wasn't going for screen accurate, just comfy, party friendly and hopefully bad ass. It held up well with only one leg hinge tearing after dancing Gangnam style all night long.

I also built a great sexy Loki costume for my girlfriend as well. She looked more awesome than me in my opinion.

Lastly I also put together a last minute Captain America ensemble for a party Friday night. We didn't want to wreck our costumes before the big party night. Opted not to wear my Iron Man suit Friday at Comicon or the same reason with hopes it would survive for Sunday at the Con. It did.

I literally took 100s of photos with groups of 10-20 all taking pics. I could not walk 10 feet on 6th or at the show without having to stop and take pics. As much fun as the partying was, I had more fun with the kids at the Con today. They were so cute. Many thought I was the real Iron Man. One asked if I could fly now for him please. I felt guilty that I couldn't.

In the end, thanks again so much to all of you. I'm already looking forward to passing out candy in my suit and planning for next year!
