Hi Guys, It started with one, now theres 4 on the bench, originally a model sculpted by Chris Bibby, but modified by a group on FaceBook 'SciFi Studio Scaled Modellers'

I've got 2 to be painted as Gold Leader,...one as the early paint job, the other with the heavier weathering & scotch marks

The third is as Red Jammer (which I love), & the fourth as a version painted by John Simmons that the client wanted me to replicate ( blue stripe on cockpit)

So here are some of my progress

Thanks for looking

Looking great! You can never have too many Ys. I also have Chris' Y and B. Once I get my Saturn I will start them. What mods did you do that deviated from the files?

Thanks TazMan, the group that printed these models have done several revisions to the 'Bibby' model, the first 2 kits I received had the original cockpit canopy, which I modified & resculpted with Isopon.
The 2 newer kits had this improved

The 4 struts that surround the engine Nacelles were reshaped & allow the structural T's that are the ones used on the studio models & Nice-n kits to slot in

These look fantastic! Really nice paint apps too!

Thank you bighead

They do look really good. I'm not a Y expert - how do these compare to the studio model accuracy wise? They look to be the correct size :).

Yep, almost exactly the same size, some details are larger, some are smaller, but overall not. far off it
These look amazing. I would love to get my hands on a Red Jammer kit.
I modified the Forward cockpit hull with all the raised surface details of Red Jammer, doing the pipes roughly like Jammer & had a cast of the Lunar Module for the top armature cover,...wee things like that can help make it more than just a Red Jammer paint style

How much do they run?

I am joining their Facebook group. Just waiting "Approval"

Here is the email response I got from them. I received it quickly which is nice as well.

The price would be 510$ plus shipping (depends on location)
the V1 is a bit smaller than usually .. but also 70cm long.
we are working on a V2 version atm .. but it takes few more weeks ..

Awesome. I'll monitor this thread for info because I am not a facebook person. Thanks for the heads up. -Josh

This is the second Gold Leader I’m painting of these four 3D printedY-Wings, this one is ‘sort of’ replicating the heavier painting the model got when filming ANH...darker weathering, dark streaks & green areas.
I decided to use a combination of 2 greens (Weyerhaeuser & Grey-Green)...just to make it look different...All paints Archixe-X....
Next pipes, lights & decals

They look great John. That being said there are many issues with the kit in terms of accuracy and even simple things like the ribbing on the Saturn cans. As soon as they fix those I will pickup a few myself.
