3D Printed Han Solo ANH Hero Blaster

Here’s my latest project, my take on the Hero prop, it’s not 100% accurate but I wasn’t going for that, I had a load of socket bolts left over from other projects and some other bits hanging around to add some weight to it. There’s steel rods in the handle and barrel and ball bearings packed full of glue in the magazine. Really happy with. How it’s turned out, particularly with the bevelled watch glass I used at each end of the scope. This is the ‘ported to reality’ file from thingiverse.

Great job !

How did you attenuate the layer traces from 3d printing ?
What file did you use ?
Small files and wet / dry paper, primer, and a bit of filler to get rid of the layer lines.

Started at 180, gave it a bit of 280, primer, then 400 grit, more primer, 800 grit if required.
Used rattle can panit for a bit more durability, but also a bit of airbrush, especially for the varnishing.

Printed it at about 0.02 layer height on my Ender 3 (Fine / Extra fine settings in Cura)

This is the base File

With a couple of extra bits from here

There's also a remix to add springs for some of the mechanisms (I didn't do this - wish I'd seen them before now!)

Thank you for your response and reference files !

Some thingiverse files have really been made by talented people

Your work shows the results that can be achieved when attention is paid to detail. You have achieved such a quality that it is difficult to realize that it is a 3d print. Congratulations!
