This project had been sitting around for a year. I moved on to other helmet builds because I knew this one would take an age to sand. I printed it at 0.3mm when I first started 3d printing. My printer is a cheap kit from China and I had an issue with z wobble when I first put it together, again another factor that requires more sanding.
I don't have many photos of it like my other builds as once I actually started doing it I just wanted it finished. Apologies for the some of the photos being crappy.
It's not a screen accurate model but good enough.
It started out in about 20 pieces.
All together:
I used some fine surface filler watered down and smeared all over to try and get rid of some of the layer lines.
Sanding took foreever but I finally managed to get some primer on it.
Then a few days later I got some black paint on it
I wanted to add some EL panels for the rebreathers but made these instead:
And finally I made a visor from 3mm acrylic
I now just need to add a rubber strip on the brow but it's 99% done.
