Been slowly getting my printer ready for production parts. Here is the first full model kit to come off my 3D printer.

3.25" in diameter. No post processing of the print surface. Simple weathering with black acrylic wash over the natural grey print color with white highlights added for surface detail.

For an experiment it actually looks quite nice sitting on the shelf from 2 feet away.

Nice! Is this hollow, and are you going to produce these?

Thanks! Hollow it is. 3.5mm thick shell. It could be thinner. This was simply to test recess and overhang printing capability and a hollow sphere. The exercise naturally screamed Death Star. :p

I had not considered producing this. Would there be much interest? What sizes? I could scale this up to just under 10" in diameter and still print it. I would make some modifications to it if I did as the original model came from Thingiverse and I have not refined it for accuracy. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:245922 I just scaled it up and set my own print parameters.
