3D printed Buckles (W.I,P)

I'm a Mechanical Engineering graduate student on a journey to make a screen accurate Han Solo belt buckle.


I built a set of buckles for Celebration with no input so the results were not to my liking.


My method is simple; I used a pattern and then drafted the design using Solidworks. Version 1.0 was 3D printed and coated with XTC 3D. Version 2.0 will be printed first to check the fit and then sent for metal fabrication with the buckles finished with a brushed aluminum texture.

I tried to tinker with the program but it sucks that I can't upload the STL file straight and get a quote =/

So I've been trying to do a one size fits all build where I can interchange between ANH and ESB using a V bracket system in the back buckle. Design updates to come.

HanSulu, Was there any progress on the buckles? I'm working on the Han Solo Holster, need the belt hardware.
