Hey guys I wanted to let everyone know about the cowl that I'm having printed for a film I'm directing. I haven't found anything on 3D printed Batman cowls and I needed a cowl that would allow for full head movement and the latex cowls just weren't going to work. First I made a prototype out of a luchador mask, a kids hard plastic face mask from Walmart and some kydex. I cut the ears off of the face mask and replaced them with my own molded ears out of kydex. I was very surprised at how much freedom I had and how comfortable I was, even wearing all day. unfortunately the plastic face mask isn't as durable as kydex and began to crack and got worse the more I tried to fix it.
This led to me seeking out a 3D artist, who's is printing the first cowl as I type this, I hope to try it on tomorrow. Much like my prototype, this cowl will be sectioned into 3 parts and attached to a neoprene diving hood. It covers the entire neck but allows for full head movement.
