3D print reinforce, resin or fiberglass

I want to model and 3D print a starwars inspired helmet, but im at a crossroads. What would be best to reinforce and make the print drop proof, fiberglassing the whole thing or using just resin. Fiberglass would be a pain to sand but ive seen someone do it for a deathstroke helmet and it was almost indestructible. Thanks for the help

If you are going to design and print it, why not just make the shell thicker, and print it solid? It won't survive an axe hit, but it will definitely be strong. I've dropped several of my 3D printed helmets while sanding and they've survived. If you're printing it out in parts then gluing, you may want to pin the joints for extra strength.

I'm not sure what that guy in the video had planned, but I wouldn't trust anything 3D printed for that kind of abuse, especially when protecting your brain from damage.

Thanks for the advice, i dont plan to use the helmet for actual protection. I just like knowing that if i drop it or it falls of my shelf it wont break. Currently im leaning more towards resin as it seems easier and with almost equivalent results
 
if you want a drop proof helmet, make it out of hard silicone.
Fiberglass, resin, epoxy resin, plastic, they can all break/crack.

I like the "make it thicker when you print it," idea. Just go to settings and print the walls to be 2mm thick. Use PetG. Then coat it with XTC to get rid of print lines.
