3D Modeling - Suggestions Needed!

Hello!

Finally I've decided to kick back and get to work on a long awaited project of mine: Revan's mask.

Many of you share my same love of this beloved EU character, and I've seen plenty of variations of his mask go around this forum. Some foam, pepakura, scratch built, sculpted... but I figured I'd take my crack at it with 3D modeling.

No explanation is necessary for how awesome the signature mandalorian helmet is, so take a look at...

It's essentially finished for right now, the little round greeblies on the bottom are an easy add on.

For those wondering, I went with the SWTOR version for now because the reference images were everywhere, and the old mask was very low poly. I have designs and plans to do two more versions of the helmet, which include the original KOTOR design and the new Black Series figure design!

Let me know what you guys think, more pictures to come later!

Re: Making of Revan - My long awaited journey

My next little dive into custom creations will be another version of this helmet, one that was just recently shown off earlier this year. When they announced that they had been working on a new black series action figure based on Revan, I knew I'd probably buy it. Unfortunately it hasn't released yet, but at this point it's only a matter of time.

The black series mask has a very unique design compared to SWTOR; it's almost more like the modern mandalorian helmets, with the hard angles on the cheeks and the wide jaw. Without the figure in front of me, I'll have to really rely on my own imagination to fill in the blanks.

Eventhough I don't know anything about this character and his traits ... it's quite an impressive figure for a Sith, robes and all ... so very curious to see your end result, weathered and all :)

Thanks! If you love a good story, I highly recommend either going back and playing through the old games or looking up the story. It's definitely worth it.

I think I might just turn this thread into my every day modeling thread where I post a few models here and there, and builds that I'm working on. That way I'm not creating a new thread every time I'm making a new model. :p

Re: 3D Modeling - Rogue One Death Trooper, Revan, etc.

Alright so I've just turned this into a general purpose thread, and I still haven't settled on a title yet :p

Here's what I've been working on, it's almost done.

I've finally learned how to build with 3D printing in mind! Let me know what you guys think!

Hey are you using blender? If so, I've been using it for a couple years so feel free to fire away with any questions you might have. I'm more than happy to answer them. That is, if you want help.:)

Yes I am! I definitely had some learning curve with blender since I've been jumping 3D programs a lot. I finally seem to be getting the hang of it though. I'll definitely be taking you up on questions if I need to!

Hey guys, I'm still working on the Death Trooper helmets, and I'd like to ask you guys for a favor.

I'm pretty bad at deciding which ideas I want to do next, so is there any that you guys would like to see? I make these for 3D printing, so they could possibly lead to builds (especially Revan :)) but I was just wondering if there was anything out there you guy's would like to see.

Thanks guys!

School and unfortunate car troubles have halted all modeling on my end unfortunately, but hopefully I get back to it soon!
