3D modeling help, details inside..Update with final Spider Premium Ring replica.

Hey I've tried to work with Google 3D to build a model of a ring I want to create on Shapeways. But I'm no good and can't get past the basic ring itself. I can't get the details to show right. Is there anyone who'd be willing to help me out.

Ok Update Epilepticsquirl is amazing, he built the 3d model for an adult sized replica of the 1940's Pulp hero The Spider premium ring. The original barely makes it on my pinky. I recieved my copy in stainless steel along with a few plastic ones to see how they looked. I have yet to remove the SS version except to start to polish it. Here is the initial out of the package picture, then three somewhat hand polished pics. I dont' have any of my tools to do a better job at this time.
