Hi Guys just got to see it today boy was it good !! it was funny because when I walked out of the theater with my father he just told me now that's what I call action ! lol but make sure you go see it a good theater ! I definitely cannot wait for it to come out on DVD or blue-ray and will also buy the soundtrack which was great !

Holy ****!

Have you seen the uproar from Iran about this movie!

Iranians are decendants of Persians and they are going bonkers.

Cary

The Iranian thing is just dumb, the persian empire actually originated out of present day Iraq, the capital was Babylon in or around present day Baghdad. The iranians seem to be looking for any excuse. the movie was depected as being fairly accurate minus the several deformaties (sp?) which is what they may be upset about, otherwise, they may just be pissed that their grand ancestrial eastern empire got it handed to them by 300 Greeks (The West), LOL

People there just have nothing better to do, I guess.

Or they are jealous of the six-packs on them Greeks!!

;)

Plus they completely don't get the message behind the story...
However, I found Americans are as patriotic as Iranians, and reply in a similar way if their nation's ego is to be harmed. Burn a stars 'n stripes and most of you will yell it's a shame. Remember French Fries? What happened to them when France didn't support the war in Iraq? Bingo. Enter Freedom fries, now, how dumb is that?

So where it all comes down to, is a matter of ego. Both ways however react in a way that's out of place...

Found this one by the way:

Finally got my 300 mask. It is VERY cool!!!! A musthave mask prop. Movie accurate, and decent price point.

My take on the 300--- There was a lot to like----the look of it----and the underlying themes that are applicable to today's events.

Loved the cinematography, loved the texture of it all. It literally was art in motion.

I remember studying the Spartans and the battle of Thermopylae in elementary school. I wonder if western civilization born of the Greeks, is taught anymore, especially where politically correct nincompoops don't want to offend certain groups by teaching real history. Learning events in history is important because it puts things in context for future generations. While some liberties and artistic license were taken with 300----it is a thought provoking film that exemplifies the fact that freedom isn't free, that love of family, and of country together with commitment and valor are noble. I have been waiting for just such a film over the last several years. And judging by the film's #1 box office status, so did many others. An all around great film indeed.

There is a difference between offending someone unnescesary and invading a nation. Although teaching has one thing to do with it, so does common sense. To do something with teachings from the past, you have to be able to see the present clearly and untainted. And mainly that last part causes us to think in black and white, disregarding all grey inbetween.

The story of the 300 of Sparta is a noble one, a great sacrifice and expresses their extreme sense of responsibility. But let it be clear that this can't be copy-pasted to any, ANY situation in the present 1:1.

What a piece of **** movie!!!!

aside from the GOD king costume and look was incredible. the rest was less than worth mentioning

Leave it to Skullsplitter to once again hoist the banner of moral relativism. I just knew you were going to respond to my post and use it as a template to vent your frustration with us "war-mongering" Americans. I guess you can afford to be ambivalent about your nations's security while under the nuclear umbrella provided for it by your American cousins for the last 60 years. God, what a disappointment western Europe has become after WWII with it's socialist flirtations.

You see, your cousins in America are living in a post 9/11 world, with over 3,000 of it's countrymen killed---there's no gray area there. You'll forgive me if I identify with the values and principles enumerated in the film that sustain us through this current war. It ain't no cut and paste. So take your bohemian sensibilities and cram 'em. Go back to sleep----we'll hold down the fort for you ------again.

Unapologetically,
carlart
(an ugly American)

p.s. I do not extend these words to all on this board. There are patriots and brothers in arms all over the globe to whom I salute.

whatever your point of view on geopolitical situations and how they related to the film and current events,
still doesn't change the fact THE MOVIE IS A PIECE OF ****!!!!!

The film is based around ACTUAL historical events, nothing to do with current world situations, stop reading into things too much and just enjoy a film.

Come on KIT! FOR SPARTA!! Can't tell me ya didn't like the pieces O' body parts flyin around. Carlart is mad because that's his great great great grandaddy who told the Persians about the goat pass.
