300 Spartan Helmet: Ready for Production

Well I wasnt going to post anything till this baby is ready for production but Im just to excited as this as been a WIP with a BIG helpful had from an owner of an orgianl SE helmet(speak up if you wish), for the better part of 4 months
My goal with this helmet was to make it as close to the SE helmet but make it wearable for the average joe. When I was able to hold the screen used helmet in my hand I was shocked at how small it was, and I by no means have a large head and it wouldnt even fit on my mellon! With that said, measurments of the orignal SE helmet were taken and adjusted so that this helmet is fully wearable and as close to the SE as can by my the human hand/my abilities.

Without further adu here his where im at, just started the weathering today and should finish with in the next day or to and get her ready for molding.

Looks cool. I am a fan of anything Frank Miller has done and this is one of his best. The film was awesome and the helmet looks way cool.

Looking good. What are you gonna do for the hair?

Well when I redo this helmet to look like Leo I probable use a combo of either Black fiber optic cables and a mixture of horse hair as well. Ive heard the long brisle brush (push broom type) have worked, but if remember correctly I heard in an interview that they used horse hair and fiber optic cables for the helmet, so I may try and go that route for accuracy

Special thanks to Jose for "wising me up" on the correct material to use on this. Got a chance thanks to him to pull one from the mold yesterday and had the chance to clean it up real quick and to a test paint job on it w/out any weathering today.

Dont mind the crappy paint job, I spent all of 20 mins on it.

No actually never did any heat shaping on it, but the cheeks could come in just a tad. It amazing ho0w the 1st helmet I pulled compared to this one look nothing akile with the new material and also the shape of it. The orginal one is tiny compared to the newest one

Re: 300 Spartan Helmet WIP: Almost done!

K spend most of the day sanding the inside of the helmet and doing some test weathering and blood splatter. Im not satified with the color of the helmet as its WWAAYYY to dark but the weathering came out halfway decent. LMK what you guys think, I roughly based the weather off of Arts screen used helmet.

With the sanding of the inside the helmet, it fits me very loose on my head now and pops on and of with no problem or twisting to get it off/on
