3:10 to Yuma Grips "Right hand of God"

So I did this yesterday...
I have contacted every one I know and amazingly no one makes the grips for the SAA Colt. Well with the crucifix set in, Called "The right hand of God"

I am planing on getting these cast in a few days. But would like some feedback before I do. Yes it needs cleaned up a bit. The head needs to be rounded a little, and I need to reshape the foot. Anything else? PLEASE rip it apart. Oh I know its the exact size though I put it on a SAA colt to make sure. :)

Looks really good. Will be interested to see the final product.:thumbsup

Ok per a few PM's here is the update. Good point out on the arm's they have been reangled and moved, foot fixed (the rest will be once its cast) and the head as well :)

Looks very good...have you thought about shaping the arms of the cross a bit so that it's easier to fit to your handles and more comfortable when held?

I can't put my finger on it but the legs don't look quite right to me. Then again, it could be the lighting in the picture. Something about how the legs overlap though don't look exactly correct to me though

Just my 2 cents. But other than that, this is a VERY nice replication!!!

yes I have to wait till I get the grips made So I know how to curve the underside. You can heat wax CAREFULLY in hot water and it will then bend :)

Hmm I have had all kinds of thoughts on how the legs could be. at first I thought it was a side placement with the legs next to each other (little like sitting down) going to His left and bent back down straight. BUT then this is not possible with the foot on the bottom it has the heel on His left side toes to the right unless its bent 180 degrees in the wrong direction. If you have any ideas I'd be happy to try it :)

Originally I thought the piece was embedded or recessed into the grips but after seeing the real deal at Propstore it looks almost as if it's simply glued to the grip. If it is recessed it's just slightly.

The overall shae of the cross on HG's looks slightly "chunky" to me. Should be a bit (just an RCH) more lean.

All of your assessments are correct, I have seen the original photos before this (but thanks for posting), and know the guy that is friends with the armor. The crucifix was put on hold for a long while for a few reasons :)
First I hand to buy the real Colt to put it on, next needed the correct curve of the grip and a person I knew said they would provide me with photo's of the actual gun (in California).

So there is a new wax that is WAY different from the one on this post, (bit embarrassed about it actually). There are a few problems with the grip that I'm not sure how to work out to keep it screen accurate.
First a few of the True cowboy action shooters I know have said they would NEVER put that on the finger or left side of the gun. it would inter fear with your griping of the firearm. Yes it is just set on top of the grip and glued on. This was confirmed by my friend that has help the gun. But this seams really cheesy to me and mine will be inlaid.

Also apparently there have been a few different versions of this grip/gun even before the movie. The image I showed before was an actual gun owned by Russell Crow that he had made long before the movie (or so I was told). So it looks a lot more like the original wax I did.

I met the armorer from 3:10 to Yuma on another show. He said it was custom made.
