$299 3:4 scale arcade cabinets

I am hoping they have good news and add a "shooter" cabinet. hogans alley, area 51, etc. I hear the U.K. will be getting a 12 game "bundle" console...... :unsure

They pushed back the official release date to Oct 19. Some retail store released it already but Walmart is holding onto them until then basically screwing over us pre order customers. Galaga is a Walmart exclusive so I have to wait it out.

There's a bunch of warning there about bad drivers, software, scratches in the cabinet, and the paint on the control panels peeling away. They posted a response on YouTube:

I had really high hopes for these. but after watching some of the review's and the "actual size" reports, I don't know if i would buy one a year from now, even at half price... :cry I am glad there trying to correct the problem's but GEE WIZ I think they have had plenty of time before launch to "fix" alot of this... :unsure

If you are serious about a home gaming system, get something like a candy cabnet. Here is my blast city. You can load it up with mame or real arcade games. None of this particle board, cheap controls, lcd screen crap.

Looks like Walmart completely borked the pre-order for the Galaga cabinets. Not sure anyone has gotten one as of yet but I am reading that all the pre-orders are going to be cancelled.

I built a custom oak bar height cocktail table recently. I used an old dell monitor, cpu speakers, and a 60-1 Jamma box. We love it.

I designed the table parts in illustrator and laser cut them at the local library.

So if you dont mind me asking, how much did it cost to custom laser cut ALL the oak for this? :eek

My local library has a FREE Makerspace. Lucky Me! All it takes is a library card and about a 30 minute safety class and training on each machine.

So the only cost was materials and my time.

You might want to also look at your local MakerSpace in the area.. I know mine has several lasers....

and even if you are NOT a member (although it only cost $40 a MONTH at mine!)..... you an usually solicit someone on the public mailing list to help you out.

I actually own a laser cutter myself (just a 40w hobby one unfortunately.. not an Epilog!)..

and created my own 'mini' cabinet.

(never ordered a display for it.. or finished it) :(

as I couldnt get any help/response from the RPi forum on how to get 2 player working/set-up.. things kind of fizzled! LOL
