i second the off season contest, just because i have some ideas already for another one!

I'm starting to wonder if 2 weeks will be enough time to really rack up some votes... granted, not ALL the RPF likes Dr. Who but cmon... the Sonic is just awesome as props go! I've lost track of how many times I've looked through all the entries... and I can't even vote!

First of all, thanks to The Next Doctor for this contest, and not trying to take away from that.

But if we do another should we do spring and fall, or do these quarterly? And then have the prize thing like every spring or what? Like set say a July 15 date for the next non-prize bragging-rights contest?

Maybe have two categories, all original and then one for replica or replica variant? Or maybe have things like collaborative entries and such? Perhaps we could have people that have strong suits in machining/turning or electronics and paint/finish give some tutorials and how to's to pass the time?

Just seems to me a contest of some kind can bring in more people and spark some camaraderie and get people sparking ideas and make the people who don't feel like they can compete at least give it a shot no matter their skill level.

That's all I can think of right now, so everyone else go nuts. Brainstorm away; maybe we make a new thread and vote on rules, etc, etc, etc...

I think doing it too frequently would take away from the fun of it. If you want to build another sonic please do, post a thread on your build and we can all shoot ideas back and forth about it. Setting up a new contest puts too much pressure on it.

I'm with you on that one! Although this might be the most fun I've had on a build in a long time but... All I did was think about and work on my sonic. This was nothing but fun and I am already working on another build but having these to often could definately take away.
Maybe there's another prop we could hold a custom contest for... After a few months of course.

I am going to vote but am still thinking on it. I really like 31 (The gears remind me of the invasion of time presidents office revamp but I do not know if that was the intention). There are a few other ones that are very cool also though. I am going to look at them each day and see if one grows on me :lolGreat job everyone who entered.

Seeing as my girlfriend watches the Doctor much more than I do, I decided to let her vote. She glanced over all the entries and liked a couple of them. But for only one vote she went with #2. I thought he was talking about themes for upcoming contests, not a Cyberpunk Sonic Screwdriver.

But then again, if there were a Cyberpunk Sonic, it'd probably look like something out of "The Matrix."

There are a lot of great entries. I don't watch WHO so Not sure how accurate to the universe of the show these are. I see the steam punk look, the star trek look, the light saber look, and the old school space look. pretty cool everyone. I was gonna enter but just couldn't find the time. I wouldn't have been able to beat most of the entries here. Good thing I saved the time.

These are all quite good, I think. Some a bit lightsabery, which isn't such a bad thing, as the SS is as important to the Doctor as lightsabers are to Jedi.

Difficult to say, but I'm going to have to say that entry #17 is the best.
