If you want to strip the paint from the styrene then I have used this stuff with good results. But I'm not sure how resin will react to it.

Will take some pics of it when I receive it. Just won it on ebay. The description was 2002 x wing fighter I assume its a Hasbro one because I saw a spot where a R2 figure could be placed.

I just weathered the crap out of mine, came out nice. There is a new release of that ship in stores now, by the way, for about $50. It's a Toys R' Us exclusive Red 3 Biggs X-Wing.

Yeah I agree living in Australia the prices on everything are double or triple than anywhere else

Parting with $99 will surely make me cringe. It's supposed to be the poor man's X-wing. All I did on mine was brace the wings at a solid angle and dremel out the canopy. Hanging from the ceiling as is, it looks pretty cool, warts and all. But you're right, Hewitt, a proper paint job should make it look cooler. Pharchivist has some photos of his Hasbro X-wing over at modelermagic, by the way.

Hey CJ, you can't stay away from those Hasbro's, can you? lol. All that is missing now a TIE for the X-Wing to chase.

Hasbro X-Wings are not much accurate but with a new paintjob and some electronics they look nice.

Here is one i made this year, new weathering, LEDs for the thrusters, fibre optic cockpit with styrene cockpit display and a poseable stand

Not grubby enough so I can't say "quick and dirty", Dean, LOL. Quick but too clean, those Hasbros - excellent for painting practice. Nice job there, NemesisCustoms.

Unfortunately the wings on the new TVC Red 3 X-Wing (and I am sure it's the same for the others as well) do not open very well due to a poorly designed lever at the rear. One SW collector over at Rebelscum has designed a new 3D printed lever that opens the wings wider. Check post #576 in the link below. Unfortunately each costs $16 but postage to Australia is $20 so it's pretty much a deal breaker.
