1966 Batphone Photos

Here is the first look of our version of the Batphone.

It looks a little wonky because I didn't have enough resin to fill the mold (I ordered a trial size sample instead of investing in a full gallon). The ear/mouth pieces are missing and the phone itself is too short.

Considering it was a test pull, I'm really happy with the results.

I have more resin on order and I should be able to begin casting in a week or two.

I hope you like it.

Holy Cool Casting Blufive... I can see Commisonner Gordon picking up the receiver now...

Let's see some more pics - same Bat time, same Bat channel :D

Thanks for the link.

I saw that tutorial a few years back and I found it lacking when it came to the body. It's great information as far as the electronics, base and glass top goes.

:)

Make a second one, put the Presidental Seal on it where the dial would be, and you have the red phone from the Flint movies. Fox reused EVERYTHING in their inventory in those movies.

The sound effect for the ring tone in Flint was even reused in Hudson Hawk for the hi-tech handcuffs. Pretty funny since Colburn ( Flint ) was in the movie.

Nice first shot. :)

Have you thought about a way to make the inside smother so the back-light comes through even? Hope that makes sence?

I'd like details as well...

It is listed in the credits of "Hudson Hawk" as "Hail to the Cheif", and was written by Jerry Goldsmith. I almost bought the soundtrack to HH, but it didn't have that tune on the album. I don't know why, as it is only a few seconds long. I want a telephone, or cell phone with that ring.

Yes, that thought has occured to us.

The inside of the phone master was rough so I filled in the rough spots with clay. That's why it's a little lumpy. The large bumps are from the phone itself. The base screwed into the phone body there.

I will try to lightly layer some RTV in those spots to even it out a little. I really don't know HOW even it will be but I'll give it the ol' college try.

:D

i say leave it as is. the 66 batphone from the series wasnt exactly evenly lit either.

That looks great. I have a red phone to convert but the shell is to dense for the lite to shine trhu. I was thinking of having a vacuum mold copy made in a red translucent abs or some thing. If anyone wants to trade for something for the phone let me know.
