This is a work in progress. I started by testing a 6” version, then this scaled up 18” model. The ultimate goal is to print a four foot Jupiter 2.

Is this you own 3D design or are you working off of someone else's STL's? I'm not really passionate about the Jupiter 2, but I always love looking at projects that involve 3D printed pieces. I know people built these out of styrene and PVC in the past, but I find that making a kit of something that doesn't involve resin, really interesting.

The designer is in Australia. I test his designs (mostly B9 models) and he posts them in a Facebook group for personal use.

Nice! What printer are you using?
I'll need to remember this page for those landing legs when the time comes to make my Planet of the Apes Liberty Lander since the studio set used the Jupiter 2's legs as part of the wreckage on screen.

Very cool. That was my choice for a filament printer before I opted for the Mars. I still want to get one though and it's nice to see what it can do.

Here’s the completed 18” Jupiter 2. This was just a test to prove out the STLs prior to upscaling to the 4 foot model. I may one day prep and paint it.

And here’s the progress on the 4 foot Jupiter 2. Im just getting started. The goal is to have the model displayed on the launch gantry.

Hey Taz. The 4 foot project is done. I posted pictures in the Wonderfest thread, but here are a few. There are more progress pictures in “General Modeling”. For some reason they were moved out of the 3D printing section.

Fantastic! My favorite spaceship of all time. it doesn't get enough love from the sci-fi community but It will always be number 1 in my book!
