Re: Captain Jack Harkness RAF Peaked Cap

If you look at screen caps, he's wearing a Junior Officer's peaked cap with the BDs. Also, his rank braid on the BD blouse is for a Wing Commander, not Group Captain (3 rank braids...not 4).

I'm looking at putting that uniform together for D*C next year...minus the heavy great coat. ;)

Re: Captain Jack Harkness RAF Peaked Cap

Probably going to get:

Plain black cap toe oxfords (officers could private purchase their footwear)
Repro RAF BD and cap - What Price Glory (best option)
Rank braid - same place I got it for the great coat
eBay - the wings and DFC ribbon
Cravat - I'll have to keep my eyes open.

The light blue shirt will probably just be the light blue shirt I'll use for my Torchwood CJH costume.

Hope this helps.

Re: Captain Jack Harkness RAF Peaked Cap

Hey, reviving this thread a bit!
BD = battledress?
Is this (the What Price Glory one) accurate to what they used in the show? (looks nice!)
are there any modifications needed...? what wings/other insignia is required...? I'd love some links a little more information!

I'm curious, there aren't any PATTERNS for RAF uniforms are there? (too much to ask, I'm sure...)

I already did a "ok" later Jack for my husband modding a swiss army coat, but it'd be really fun to do a proper-ish RAF version for him, especially since I have most of the stuff for an Empty Child Rose already.
