Man, you're gonna have everything but the kitchen sink it there. Hell you may even have that too, lol. Are you gonna build an RC Bruce, to chase after it,
; )

No not the kitchen sink, but the toilet will be in the lower cabin.
I'm hoping that Neca Entertainment makes the in scale Bruce they've been talking about making. Time will tell.

If you put in the table where they sit around telling war stories, you'll have to take a few shots of that. Love that scene. Great project !

Yes,yes, I've seen this boat. I haven't found the "pleather " for the fighting chair yet. It's not done. I think I've found the "distress" dark leather I want to use. Filmy has been so helpful doing this, she has lead me in the right direction so many times.
Once the weather gets warmer I can fiberglass the hull, get the deck, cabin sides and radio mounted.
I'm still having issues on what battery to use. I don't want to use a lipo battery. I'd rather use a SLA battery but those are huge. Figuring out run times, mah (ah) battery size drives me nuts.
Long way to go on this build, slow and steady.

Back in the early 60's to mid 80's a neighbor of mine had a Novi 42. I still remember many weekend cruises with our neighbor and other families on board the ANTIGA. When JAWS was released, I can't tell you how many times during a cruise a line from Jaws was heard.
The reason I bring this up,...............Anticipation....................is, i'm looking at photos, screen grabs, and remembering the lower cabin and V-birth layout of the Novi 42.
Jaws fans only get to see the lower cabin of the Warlock/Orca for 90 seconds in 2 sceans and the V-birth for 4 seconds. Supposedly nothing was done by the movie crew to modify the lower cabins. I can tell you,...Yes they were modified.

Lets start with the lower cabin: In the movie as you step down from the main cabin looking into the lower cabin we see what most people say are two beds. I really don't know how to break it to all of you,.....They're not beds. I know big let down. The left side was an eating area with a table and bench seats. the bench backs were made to be folded down to become a bed. The right side was a kitchenette. We never see this on film because it's all covered up with sheets and tarps.

About the only thing we get to see in the movie is the platform the seating area and kitchen sit on while water splashes across the lower deck, and some of the storage cabinets. When we see the V-birth door swing open and all the crap fall to the deck, guess what room all the stuff is falling out of? Yes! it's the head, crapper, Bathroom. Which means the toilet that we see on camera is in the wrong place and has been moved from where it should be. As I remember the bathroom on the Antiga was very small and only had a toilet and small metal sink (a sink you might see on an airplane) If you look at the above picture, The picture frame above the toilet, well......you have to air out the bathroom somehow.

The V-birth had two beds, or one big bed if you put the center cushion in place. The photo shows a modern 90's Novi v-birth, but I think that's the look i'm going with for the V-birth on the model. The lower cabin i'm still trying to figure out how to model it and make it look like it did on film.

Remember the registration hull number I showed you? That where is going to be on the model......Thanks for smiling Richard.

Had some fun last night watching the NY Islanders Hockey game. This is a ShapeWays piece 1/18 scale US Navy Compass. I cut off the pedestal, Trimmed down the Mounting Bracket, Turned one compass 90* in it's bracket for the Flying Bridge, and added a Glass bubble. I still have to print a compass face decal and get another glass bubble, but i'm happy with the way it turned out.

It's been a long Friday. We found out today that my wife's cancer is back. After a year and a half of Chemo, Radiation, and Amino Therapy it's back. I'm probably not going to be able to work on the Orca much for awhile. This thread won't be dead, just very slow.
Life isn't fair sometimes.
