1/72 Sov Replicas Scimitar Bomber Finished 2/1/2009

Started Rel's Extended Universe Scimitar Bomber today. You are looking at the sum total of about an hours worth of work.

The most time consuming part of this whole things has been a screw up I made when using my belt sander to level off two parts to be joined. It was really cold here today and my hand slipped and I took to much off the part.

All I had to do was use a piece of styrene sandwiched in between to make it right. This kit is really easy to put together and has been fun to work on.

Got the paint masks applied that came with the kit and mixed up some custom paint for the colors.

all Tamiya paints per Richard. White with silver added to give it a metallic look. Some black to make it gray and add blue to get it to a stormy sea blue color.

Would that color work for all TIE's? Sorry, haven't read up on the regular and Interceptor too much.

I got off work early today so I thought I would get some modeling in before the fiance gets home.

I did some weathering and panel highlighting. I have little experience in this scale so I think I went a little heavy on the weathering but I like it still anyways.

Yeah they are fun to build and with the Fine Molds Falcon in route, I am going to be awfully busy too
