1/72 Hoth Echo Base Hangar diorama

Well it was a busy day at the Arizona subsidiary of the Corellian Engineering Corporation...LOL
did the upper hull markings today, painstaking mask work but it's worth it. Hairspray method employed of course. I adapted the entryway for an MPC and strung some FO in it, seems to fit ok. Had to mod the SW MPC ramp, too wide and the angle will be slightly steep, but...who's gonna know. I also ran the .75mm FO for the low clearance lights, no issues. Also pre-installed a couple of white LED's for the rest of the FO for later. It's coming along nicely.

got a little done today...my TV has been acting up lately and it checked out this morning, ARGH! Took a few hours getting a new one plugged and operating proper. Anyway. I started wreathing the upper hull. Did the damaged areas...the blast holes went really well, but I botched the "scars" on the cockpit side

I cut the interlocks off a SW ramp and CA'ed them to the stock ramp and re-arranged the hydraulics to look closer to proper. I didn't do anything with the entry walls, won't see them in the dio anyway. But for what will be seen, it'll get the job done.

The ramp looks great!
thanks! I was going to use a SW ramp for an MPC and it was too wide. so I cut the interlocks off and stuck them to the stock ramp. split the hydraulics and repositioned them for a more appropriate look. I had the interlocks for the FM already. I had been casting them to use on MPc's before Tony had designed some for them. Worked out pretty good.

Well aside from a few nick-nack pipes that go on AFTER the hulls are joined, and the red hazard light fixtures (shapeways) the FM Falcon is done. When I ordered the haz lamps there was two sets in the package...cool. It's definitely NOT the beauty that the PG is, but I think all things considered it's not too shabby. Far and away better than my best effort with an MPC though. So now, the Echo Base diorama will soon be properly complete.
I suppose I'll start a new thread for the next build...when I figure out what to do next. I'm thinking of maybe the big, nearly 1/72 scale AT-AT that Analyzer turned me on to that he so generously sent the templates for the reworked plating for the head (y)

Lovely build Ross, congrats (y). Especially digging the illumination around the landing gear .
I’ve been toying with adding some for my Deago build, but I already have so much extra lighting involved already that, I’m not sure I won’t end up blowing the provided circuit board !(n).
Anyhoo, I’m hoping you’ll be taking some ‘finished’ diorama pics with this lady on stage when time permits.
Again, beautiful work. Thanks for sharing .

Many thanks Ged! I'm happy with it and yes once she is in place I'll take another set of pics of the whole diorama. So you've got a big bird!? I was beginning to think you weren't building anything...like ever. LOL You got a thread for that, would truly love to see it(y)

Lol! Yeah, I’ve been working on her for 2yrs+ now - single dad/work/life stuff/etc..., I’m genuinely slow at getting back into this hobby unlike the machines korben & your good self seem to be ;)!
But, I’m also a ‘noob’ when it comes to computer’s and pretty much anything associated with them !..., so with that said - I’ve not posted any photos of my Deago MF build here unfortunately.
If you’re interested in seeing some pics of it though, I do have quite a few up on Facebook - my daughter insisted that it’d be easy posting there (after she helped setting it up - actually it was all her !) , and that I’d be able to find others who were into the same build too !.
Anyhoo, if you’re seriously wanting to see some of my stuff then give us a PM, and I’ll provide you with the info.

Ged
