1:6th Stormtrooper (custom)

Sometime back, about a year ago actually, I started work on a custom 1:6th stormtrooper or two. Now, these don't compare to Sideshow's troopers or medicoms and they aren't marmits either but they work for my purposes.

The first was easy, I used a body I had and while I modified the Hasbro armor to fit him, the Hasbro bodysuit was fine. For his helmet, I used a hollowed out McDonalds happy meal bobble-head.

The second one, I bought a thin body on ebay for about $5.00 shipped and bought a vinyl kit which I would paint white and cut apart for the armor.
I needed a bodysuit but put it off and finally decided upon a pattern to make my own. I finished him up the other day, well.. more or less. He has some minor details yet to hammer out but otherwise, he's finished.

here they are back when "skinny" was still in progress

That McDs bobble head is actually really well done! I must admit, I'm surprised! Looks good!

Did you by chance get the SSC stormtroopers? I got them and had to do many mods, but once I finished the futzing, they look fantastic! There is the questions though, should you have to mod something that cost $100? I didn't mind at all, and actually love doing that, but the principle ya know.

nah, I haven't picked up the SST Stormie yet. I usually wait til the LCS gets them and I get them for a little less than what sideshow is asking.. honestly, the pricetag kind of put me off on the sideshow trooper but I'll probably fold eventually and buy a couple (I need to have a pair...) ;) but not before they release an ROTJ Vader first. I've seen over on sideshow freaks where the user Maulfan won a prototype of the ANH Vader http://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57609 and while I'm impressed, I want the reveal feature. :D

I agree that the futzing can be fun.. but frustrating when you've dropped that much dough.

I was pretty surprised by the McDonalds Bobble-head. Their Vader head isn't terrible

and with some work, I'll make it presentable eventually. ;)

Shoot, not bad, not bad at all. When did these bobble heads come out?

I agree on the price tag of ordering from SSC. I only have so far Boushh and two Stormtroopers (definitely must have at least a pair) and Vader on order, so not too much money put in. A reveal Vader will be awesome and no doubt they will do it, especially now that they have the body. A switcheroo of the cloth "vest" under the shoulder armor is really all they need and I think Maul Fan did that on one of the pics over there.

Am I the only one who is glad Naked-Vader isn't anatomically correct?! :eek

Good stuff BTW.
