1/6 scale Ark of the Covenant

I got this in kit form from a fellow Club Obiwan member. Its cast out of resin, very clean. In fact the only deburring that was required was the fences on the mercy seat surrounding the cherubs. This was primed and then painted with Krylon 18kt Gold spray paint and sealed with a clear coat. The details are simply amazing.

I've also got a pair of 1:1 scale Ark cherubs primed and ready to paint:

Gangbusters! A big congrats on that fine piece.
I know it's 1/6 sacale, but I don't the original's size, so how tall is it, etc.?

Actually, at 1/6th scale, that might actual be a studio scale replica. For the shots of the Nazis being swept up into the sky, ILM used GI Joe figures - 1/6th scale. A smaller Ark lid was made for the shots of it twirling and I presume it was in the same scale. I'll see if I can dig up more info on this. I wouldn't mind getting one of these myself............

I'm assuming the 1/6 scale means scaled to 12" action figures which is roughly 1/6 of life size.

Neat piece! beats those little $19.95 ebay plated arks hands down.

Even better....Richard Edlund still has the actual lid. Somewhere. He has several rooms that resemble the warehouse at the end of Raiders..........

The total dimensions of the Ark (lid and all) are:

7.33" Long x 4.67" Wide x 5.5" Tall

The dimensions of just the box portion minus the lid are:

6" Long x 3.33" Wide x 3.33" Tall

You know what? For as long as I had that, I never took it out of it's little baggie and read it......

PS - We are trying to figure out how to do another screening like before. There's just been too many other films to cover. Probably this fall or winter.....

I am serious. I have been searching for a kit of the Ark of the Covenant endlessly. Does anyone have information where I could purchase this kit. Can anyone contact kalkamel for me so he could give me the info that I need. I have no way of contacting him. ANYONE!!! I cannot find even the cherubim angel molds to make the angels.
