Hey kids,

I am new here. I have been an R2 builder for a long time, been scale model building since I was a kid. I will have tons of stuff to show you. Here is my current project.
Here is my 1/6 falcon interior diorama.
I have the floors done and the walls mounted to the base. The figures are not mounted yet.

Let me know what you think, so far I am liking it.

I'm new here too but...I'm impressed ! :eek

You have to explain how you did this : where did you get the backdrop ? where do the figures come from ? Is everything built from scratch ?

I think I see a bit of Kotobukiya's Han Solo but that's pretty much it...

The walls are made from Sintra and model bits. The hallway image was a photoshop image I did using an original photo from the set (dont know where i found it) It is all scratch built except for the figures.
They are:
Han - reposed AMT kit (resin filled)

Chewie - Hasbro Action Collection figure reworked and reposed (resin filled)

3P0 - Screamin'/Kaiyodo vinyl kit reposed (resin filled)

Obi - Polydata, re-worked head. (foam filled)

Luke - Polydata, added helmet and a better lightsaber. (resin filled)

R2 - Hasbro 12" figure series with a repaint

I have been wishy-washy about actually seeing this through to the end. Now that I have the floor and walls conected I think I might stick it out and finish it. I need to redo the chess/dejarik table as it is too small. I am not totaly sold on the obi-wan. I think I need to do a new sculpt of him sitting.

What is a good modeling clay for resin casting? Something other than sculpy.

This is so big I think I might build a set of landing gear from the falcon and have it be the "legs" of the whole display. The ceiling of the main hold and the outer top hull of the falcon will top it all off and in between them will be a flouresent light to light up the display inside.

Hello Kelly, welcome! Very nice way to introduce yourself... I predict that you will quickly become a very popular member here!!

Watch for some great stuff from this guy. Give him an afternoon and he'll put together a complete screen-accurate full scale astromech with two sheets of sintra, a roll of duct tape and some paint.

Hey I remember seeing this not too long ago on starshipmodeler!
It's great! You should definitely finish it up. :)

Hey Kids,
Here is a small update to my 1:6 Falcon interior diorama. I bought the sideshow 1:6 Dejarik Chess Table. It was a nice fit to my diorama. My scratch built attempt at the table was way too small. Probably a better size for the 3.25" figures.

The last pic compares the old table and the new.

Thanks everyone!
Its gonna be a while before I can find the time to finish it. It needs the wall behind Han's computer console and the celing w/ lights. I still need to get a better Obi Wan. The new chess table really helps. The tight shots look like they could almost come from the film. I am pretty happy with it so far.

In your title I thought you built a 1:6 scale Falcon. Seeing your stuff from the past I wouldn't be surprised. Your talent always wows the heck out of me. Great diorama! Even not complete it tis fantastic!

man that is sweet, very nice, and the characters are perfect!

the Millennium Falcon is my favorite ship in star-wars, its so rough and realistic looking, and your work really brings out the reasons it is so cool both outside and in....

That looks terrific, Kelly! I was considering a build of the game area, but I'm now inspired to build the whole area as you have done. Wicked work, happy to see it here. What is the overall dimension of your floor plan? Sideshow's Obi-Wan is an amazing sculpt that would look great in your piece if you can find one.
