Looks like a great kit.

Don't get me started (my own experience with himBut to be fair - as I said a few posts back, you have to cut the guy some slack. The model is pretty good given the information that was publicly available at the time he designed it.
And for a garage resin cast, the moulding looks quite good in those photos - pretty sharp, and free of bubbles.
Now - taking money from people and never shipping product - *that* is inexcusable...
Yes, I did...not accurate by any means. Here's the pics of the thread (I did a search, but without succesjoberg did you ever post a thread on your 1/6 pod?
So, has anyone made progress in making an accurate alternative?
Eager to see it when it's done NeilI've been working on one for the past 4 years. Not an "alternative" per se, because it's not going to be a kit or anything.
An impressive labour of love!Yes, I did...not accurate by any means. Here's the pics of the thread (I did a search, but without succes)
Well, me too! I'm pretty burnt out on it now really...Eager to see it when it's done Neil![]()
Yep, you don't know how many times I cursed the Acrylic Gods cutting that sphere to build that PodAcrylic is awkward to work with if it is not in tube or sheet form. Maybe domes would work. A sphere is a difficult starting point in acrylic.
For this project, 1/6 scale is simultaneously big and small enough to be ideal. So, 13"~13.5" would be about right.
Sourcing some other plastic might be a better alternative.
