1/48 X wing WIP

Hey guys, finally got me one of these finemolds x wing fighters. I don't have any progress but plan on jumping on it on wednesday, when my hobby shop opens back up so I can get some paint

I know that the details are alot better but how does the 1/48 scale compare to the AMT/Ertl kit in size?

where I don't have one handy at the moment I'm not sure. I would say that I was expecting this to be bigger at first but after starting the assembly it seems to kind of "grow" the whole not having a nose cone on really makes it look smaller than it is. I would say it's about an inch and a half shorter than the amt kit. But don't quote me on it.

This kit is awesome but where I decided to work on it late at night I kinda messed up a little on the wings, mistook the top for the bottom. :lol

I think the AMT/MPC kit is a little longer than it's supposed to be anyway. That kit is 1/42 - how does it compare width-wise? Thanks for the info Zombie!

I got mine from starship modeler. I ordered it and got it 2 days later.
In comparing the details from what I remember of my ertl kit, the ertl kit really isn't *that* bad. even with its inaccuracies it can be made into a nice looking model.

I had planned to get started on painting it yesterday but didn't get to go to my hobby shop. Turns out I have the paints but my aztek airbrush tip was neglected before I put it in storage.

It's slightly less tiny than their earlier 1:72 version.

I wish, I've been having issues with my car that's been taking up my time and money :cry

However now that it's warming up I can set back up in my garage and paint without getting yelled at. I have the sub assemblies kinda together but I'm at a standstill until I start painting. It seems the way these progress threads work is that once you open one, your project is doomed from the start. Unless you're like REL or someone :lol

I know what you mean. After I started my blog, my time to work on my Y Wing dropped to almost 0. Not to say that what I am doing in its place is all that bad... I will get back to it soon. Look forward to what you have to show us!
