Thanks, Todd.

My wood technique is pretty simple. I use model master acrylics and a brush. After priming, I brush on a base layer of Radome Tan. You want it kind of rough, so brush strokes are ok. After that's dried for about 15 minutes, I dry brush a thin layer of Leather. With the Leather, make sure you always pull in one direction - it gives the appearance of wood grain. After that has dried overnight, I use a thin wash (I like pro-modeller wash, as it's already mixed) to add some depth to the little crevices, formed by the brush strokes.

As usual, outstanding. Inspired by yourself and Zorgs recent post i feel the need to have a change and to build some armour, looking at getting a large scale Tiger 1.

Hey, thanks guys :$

28I, go ahead and build - we need more reali-life inspired builds on this board. How many more falcons, X/Y/A wings can we look at, anyway?

Just be sure to post up your work.

Thanks for the tip! I can't wait to try this on a Panther I'm currently working on. Making wood and leather look realistic at scale sizes is always a tough go. Done well they can really make a build.

Thanks, Moo. I always end up screwing up armor, when I weather it. Aircraft, I can weather, no problem. Armor seems to be a different animal. On a previous build, I tried to do a pin filter wash and ended up having to strip back all the paint :angry.

I think I'm just going to leave this one, as is. It has some minor weathering; some paint wear on the high-traffic areas, wear on the treads and some dusting with pastels.
