    _57%202_zpsdbeyrao0.jpg

I'm in the process to list all the stuff I plan for the lighting ;)

And when I will sure of what I order exactly I will share it with you :D

Flashing Led, normal one, fiber optics (may have enought already) and such...

So if some of us have ideas or experience or finished models pics / videos you want to share with me I will be more than happy to read / sea it :$

For the power supply I have no restriction I can go 3V to 24V

Oh, man I'm weeping tears of joy, Pinousse!!! Do share us pics when your kit finally arrives :) Hey, Jaitea, are you seeing this? A 5-footer in 1/144, finally! And look at all that detail in a tiny footprint. The force is telling me it's coming out in 1/72 as well -- no wonder Disney and Revell are all panicky and defending their territory.

So I have placed some order :D

For the base as usual simple stuff wood base painted in black and steal rod ;)

They are actualy canibalised inner workings of DVD players:

Bend it to the shape you want and you are good to go ::)

I am not a big fan of concieling the power supply into the base ;)

Via plug or accus packs because when the model is displayed without the lighting I found most of the time that the base by it size distract from the model :-[

What I go with for the base will be exactly the same as the Snowspeeder and the tie I will also use the original mounting point this time because the rods I use are the perfect size to go in^^

And I will placed one of those bad boys in one off the landing gear bay:

    http://www.ebay.fr/itm/181748935919?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

With this model the uggly hex ring is inside and by placing it in one of the landing bay I can have the Falcon in fly mode lighting off with all landing bay closed and no plug visible :D

When the time come to show off the lighting I have just to open one off the bay (not micheal) and plug my allim in ;)

The lighting come on and for most angles the allim wire will be not visible ;D

    Speaking of lighting

For the engine a combination of:

    http://www.ebay.fr/itm/141608223235...49&var=440750926046&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

    For the front lights:

    http://www.ebay.fr/itm/171199676129...49&var=470319293696&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

    And for the cockpit:

    http://www.ebay.fr/itm/121378471799...49&var=420319572610&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

    in green and red and:

    http://www.ebay.fr/itm/141608223235...49&var=440750926046&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Some things can change because I have not the kit on hands but I'm pretty shure that will work that way :)

Sorry for the long post ::)

Hey Pinousse, I was wondering if you would do me a favor and measure your 1/144 falcon for me? I am curious the exact L x W x H on it and cant seem to find a straight answer on the net.

    Thanks!

Oh also, all of your pics are coming across busted for me. I cant see any of them.

Can't wait to see this too. Box size from the web is Height:13cm × Length:30cm × Width:19cm (Height:5.12inch × Length:12.20inch × Width:7.87inch). The length of the actual model seems to be 24.1cm (9.488 inches) -- just about an inch longer than the 22.5cm (8.5 inch) Finemolds 1/144 but the detail on the Bandai looks incredible.

    http://news.toyark.com/2015/09/03/bandai-star-wars-the-force-awakens-model-kits-174712

A lot of individual piping there to glue on it seems -- which means fun times ahead! :)

    Great job !

I would stay away from the AS-20,it's an off-wite that doesn't look like the original Falcons models (and the digital one) which are tan.

The color may work if you want the wash out look it has in the OT, but won't work if you want to replicate the filming minis or the Ep 7 one (the color seems to be less altered in the movie due to it being CG and not a composited miniature).

Well done on getting stuck in, a question
Any difficulty with the kit so far? What's the plastic like ?
And looking at the kit the extra pipework and details for episode 7 , it looks from the layers of extra items that you can build it without them to get the ANH version , do you think it's possible ?

Monsieur Tox have you ever seen insignia white in person? I do and even Steve Dymszo who had access to the original 32" falcon who was commissioned to do the paint master for Deagostini falcon and confirmed that insignia white is the perfect base color.

A 20 is the closest match to the 32" filming model, A20 is not white at all its actually a tan/beige color not sure why they call it insignia white, , I have the MR falcon and the A 20 is a very close match, I removed the radar dish to access the original unweathered base color to confirm match, so YES A 20 is a * close match trust me.

Here's my MPC Tydirium kit I painted last year, all the darker panels are A20 insignia white, you can clearly see the difference compared the the off white I painted my shuttle, it not white at all but a tan color.

Yeah but I was always concerned that the base for the 32" and the 5 footer are very different , and this model is the 5 footer without doubt

Steve Dymszo's advice for painting a replica of the 32' is probably pretty good:D

But for advice on building or painting any Star Wars model I'd always listen to Monsieur Tox

Yes unfortunatly I know the AS-20 very well, I painted my SS X-Wing with that color before switching to a custom mix.
I also saw the 32" four times in person.

I don't get what Dymszo say for true, I'm sorry but I saw recently a pic of what was one of his repainted MR for DeAgo or the DeAgo model... All the splatters done with a rust wash while they shoudl be gray... He probably used the pics of the SaG book which is ultra satured and color modified.

MR also said they had to do a 50% white- 50% Floquil Grime for their Falcon so the customers got something closer to what was seen in the movies.
However the original base color was straight Grime which is very dark and greenish.

I just received a Floquil Grime color chip from Beaz and this is the exact color I saw when I saw the original model in person.

Also Duncanator who restored the original 32" model, posted pics some days ago of the filming miniature. You can figure the color and how dark it is against the white foam :

So yeah maybe the AS-20 is a close match to the MR Falcon but the MR Falcon is not a close match to the original model.

Sorry I only compare paints to the original ILM models, not to replicas...

This is some fine work your doing here, top job dude.

I was test fitting a 9V battery in my falcon, seems like it will need some trimming to get it in there. I think the battery pack for the lighting module bandai intended for the kit would use 2 AA batteries or possibly 2 AAA.

Where do you plan on running the switch? was that thing you mounted in the front landing gear box a switch? i couldnt make it out from the pic.

    Thanks :D

I have installed a female dc port under the faclon as seen on the pics and the 9v battery will be in the custom base :thumbsup

So i can plug and unplug the falcon at will and i also can have multiple base with same type of connections :thumbsup

One falcon but multiple diplay :$

I actually have a original bottle of grime by Floquil and it is pretty dark, but for a off the shelf color A20 is a very good alternative and not that far off, also your looking at a 30+ model which has drastically changed in tone over the years especially when used under hot filming lights ect....
