Hey guys - was bored the last few weeks so I decided to make a rocketeer display. (rocket pack from houdiniguy a while ago, helmet from MR/disney, jacket from ebay)

here are some pics - comments are welcome. Don't know if I should add arms or not. I'm not adding legs to this one because the rocketpack is just too heavy and any mannequin legs won't be strong enough. (at least, they won't be strong enough with my limited building skills)

people liked blade so much - I upgraded my blade II costume (thanks darkone78) with screenused pants. I have a blade trinity torso coming up soon as well.. biggest problem now is finding space for all this stuff. :rolleyes

enjoy!

Nice pieces. I can help you with the no room problem. I have plenty of space here you can use. You can come visit your stuff anytime.:lol

I think you need to add arm swith the Luger at the ready pose....THAT would be even more awesome:)

You have an amazing collection. Do you have a picture of the torso before you put it?

Thanks for the comments guys! it's much appreciated.

I don't think i'll be putting arms on this guy - the luger would be cool, but if I put arms on him he's not going to fit anywhere on that side of my basement (which is already overcrowded)...

If i put arms on rocketeer - I'll have to move my superman display into the bathroom.

HAH - that might be interesting for guests and visitors - sometimes you need moral support in the bathroom -who better than superman to provide that :lol

SOOO you ended up with the houdini guy's rocketeer stuff! Man I was trying like heck to work out a deal...:cry
Looks fantastic! Love the rocketeer stuff.

the torso was just a plain mannequin torso that I got here in the junkyard a while ago - nothing special - you can get them on ebay for 50 bucks. It was made out of plastic so I just cut a hole near the neck and stuck a pvc pipe in to support the helmet. The jacket is rigid enough to make it look filled out. (unlike the superman display that I had which I had to pad out because the costume was spandex.) All my lifesized half torso displays use the same type of mannequin torsos. They're pretty easy to work with.

And you got your display pedestals where?

display pedestals are from here: http://www.edisplays.biz/roundplasticpedestal_21.html

cheap - and light - but they're strong and obviously can hold a lot of weight. There are several other companies that make these kinds of pedestals - I'd search around for different styles and finishes

WOW! I really want to come over now! AWESOME!!!!!

Steve you're always welcome :)

Dude - I know! It took a while to hammer out a deal too. I think there was even a few months in between conversations. I only took the rocketpack a few years ago - I think he may still have the helmets and stuff. Sorry - I didn't realize anyone else was gunning for the rocketeer pack.:angel Thanks!

I believe it's a Broomhandle Mauser, not a Luger. Sory to add this bit of nit-picky fanboy correction.

BTW, I'm not a big fan of the Rocketeer, but that is an amazing display you have there. It looks wonderful! Nice collection too.
