Here's a cheap helmet stand idea and as it's just an IKEA should be available worldwide!
The floor standing lamp that I used has the odd name of NOT was under £4, has a hefty weight in the base so is extremly stable and comes with a painted black or grey finish. There's also a brushed steel finished one for about £7.
You could use anything to pad out the top, a bundle of bubble wrap tapped to the top would work but here I've used an expanded polystyrene head I picked up on ebay for about £6.
The lamp comes in about four sections, all you need to do is screw the first pole section onto the base and impale the head on and your ready to role. :thumbsup

Almost forgot I've used one of the brushed steel ones for a Salzo X-wing base. It's very stable and you can use a couple of the pole sections to have your model at a decent height while stood on the floor or just use one polesection for display on a table, I,ll add some pics soon :lol.
